About Bobby

A native of San Francisco, Bobby began his career in his teens, learning theatrical lighting in the Bay area. From the Opera House and the Geary Theater to Winterland and the Warfield, he worked theatre, opera, ballet and rock & roll.

In 1979, he joined the fledgling Industrial Light & Magic in Marin County.  There he gained a wide variety of skills in pyrotechnics, stagecraft, high-speed and miniature photography and model work, eventually settling on lighting and camera work as his primary focus. Over the next twenty years, he had the opportunity to work alongside many of Hollywood's leading cinematographers, lighting visual effects for feature films and commercials.

In 1997, Bobby relocated to Los Angeles and continued to work as a gaffer, most frequently with D.P. Bill Pope.  The relationship continued even as Bobby made the move to cameraman, with Pope bringing him onto "Will Eisner's The Spirit" as the second unit Director of Photography.

Bobby is a member of IATSE Locals 16, 728 and 600.
